Staff Testimony

Connecting Resources

Brooke wrote, "When PeCo Grows Together reached out to us about picking up leftover clothes/baby items from the Consignment sale, I offered information to 4 other free clothing banks in Perry County to contact to come after the event to take any and all leftover clothing. I told them that I would come for some items that the other clothing banks wouldn't want.  When I arrived, I was informed all 4 clothing banks were coming to partake in the free leftover clothes. That makes me happy when they can all benefit together and be together and know about each other."
That's PECO. That's Joining Hands! #StrongTogether #givingHELPgivingHOPE

A Lift Chair, Sharing Resources

A client called into our office and spoke to Brooke. She wanted to personally thank Brooke and Sheree because, "she knows we have been working so hard to get her a lift chair (it was donated) - she was so grateful, said how beautiful, clean it was and that she will get a good night's sleep tonight because she has needed one to sleep in. - God Bless us!"

Testimonies

Navy Vet

NEED:

We  had a a Perry County Disabled Navy Vet in need of a bed. He was  sleeping on hospital bed that is similar to sleeping on the floor.

BLESSING:

We  communicated this need with the Join Hands Network email list. Two days  later a nice single bed frame, headboard and foot-board were donated and Join Hands purchased a new mattress to fit.

No Need to Rent Appliance

BLESSING:

One of you had an Electric Dryer available.

NEED:

We  connected them with a Perry County family who needed one. This family  had been struggling with purchasing a new one.  Not any longer.

On Oxygen

NEED:

This summer we've had many Perry County individuals who needed new air conditioner window units because they're on Oxygen.

BLESSING:

We've been able to meet these needs because of Perry Countians who've donated such units empowering us to meet these needs!

Single Mom

NEED:

We had a single mom of 2 kiddos who was in need of a bed for herself so that she didn't have to sleep on the floor any longer.

BLESSING:

Within  3 days a brand new bed, frame, sheets and mattress liner was delivered  to her. She was beyond grateful for Join Hands Ministry and our network,  you, Perry County!

Cancer Survivor

NEED:

We  received a referral from Perry County Office of Aging. It was about a  Perry County lady who needed a walker that had a seat with brakes. She  had been waiting almost a year. She also is a cancer survivor.

BLESSING:

We  did an intake with her that Thursday. That Saturday a brand new walker  (fire engine red) was delivered. It has brakes and a seat on it.

Used Scooter

BLESSING:

More  recently we started receiving slightly used scooters.  Our team cleans  them and checks them over to go to Perry Countians in need but can't  afford.

NEED

From  one of our partner agency workers, "I was just talking to this woman  yesterday and she told me how a motor scooter would make a world of  difference in her life.  This is definitely an answer to prayer!" - M
